Man Bites K9 Officer During Arrest

A man who interfered with police officers conducting a search at a Florence home Wednesday was arrested after becoming belligerent toward officers, blocking traffic flow and bit a K9 officer.  While officers were attempting to handcuff the man, identified as David Culliver, he resisted all attempts to be subdued.  The K9 officer was assisting when Culliver grabbed one of the dog’s legs and bit him.  Officers struck Culliver to get him to release the dog.  He was then taken to the ground, handcuffed, and arrested.  He was confined at the Lauderdale County Detention Center under a $2,500 bond.
