According to Lawrence County EMA Director Shelton Barnett, the Lawrenceburg NOAA Weather Radio transmitter is back on the air following an extended outage.
The transmitter, which broadcasts on 162.425 MHz, had been offline due to damage from January’s ice storm.
Officials say the restoration of the local transmitter will once again allow for more accurate and timely weather alerts tailored to Lawrence County.
Residents are encouraged to remain weather aware and ensure their NOAA Weather Radios are properly programmed.
