Arts Commission Announces Winners of Annual Burton Award Show

The Lawrence County Arts Commission has announced the winners of the 46th Annual Marguerite Rose Burton Award Show.

In the adult division, Emily Land took first place for “Heirloom + Harvest.” Joanne Beckman placed second with “Snow Peaks,” and Connie Wise earned third place for “Morning in the Cove.” Merit awards were presented to Emily Land for “Autumn Twist,” Linda Sexton for “Brenna Chicken Elsie,” and Vicki Gramer for “Psalm 132:13.” Connie Wise was also named People’s Choice winner.

In the student division, Sandra Baldyga earned first place for “European City.” Braxton Waldrop placed second with “Harvest,” and Sandra Baldyga also received third place for “Cowboy.” Merit awards were given to Asher Shaffer for “Dancer & the Man,” Alix Holt for “Unveiled,” and Kate Owens for “Scarce Trattoria Pizzeria.” Sandra Baldyga was named People’s Choice winner in the student division.

Artwork from the show will be available for public viewing Friday evening, April 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Vaughn Venue.
