Wayne Man Faces Attempted Murder Charge After Messenger Dispute

A Wayne County man has been arrested in connection with an altercation that originated as angry messages exchanged via Facebook Messenger on Wednesday.  The exchange continued to escalate until the men agreed to meet in a remote area at 9:30 Thursday night.  One of the men, identified as Matthew Morgan, was armed with a handgun.  Authorities indicate that the second man was unarmed.  Morgan allegedly fired his weapon twice, hitting the other man in the arm and hip.  Even though he was injured, he drove himself for medical attention.  Wayne County authorities report that Morgan has been arrested on charges of attempted first-degree murder with bond set at $100,000.
