Polly Jean Walker Thompson

Polly Jean Walker Thompson, age 95, formerly of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026, at an assisted living facility in Nashville, TN. She was born in Columbia, TN and grew up in Summertown, TN. Mrs. Thompson graduated from Summertown High School and Columbia Business College. She was co–owner of Thompson Furniture and Appliance Company in Lawrenceburg for 33 years. Mrs. Thompson is a member of College Place Church of Christ. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Thompson; her parents, Ernest and Alma Smith Walker; and two sisters, Katherine Walker and Elizabeth Jacobs. 

She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Thompson (Larry Michelson) of Brentwood, TN; one son, David Thompson (Kim) of Piperton, TN; two grandchildren, Emily Deaton (Blake) of Germantown, TN, and Ansley Austin (Daniel) of Collierville, TN; and two great–grandchildren, Walker and Kav Deaton. 

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Friday, May 1, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 12:00 PM Friday, May 1, 2026, with Sylvester Gilbert officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
