The Tennessee Highway Patrol has released preliminary details regarding a fatal crash that occurred just after 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 15 on Weakley Creek Road in Lawrence County.
According to the report, a Ford Mustang traveling westbound left the roadway at a high rate of speed. Troopers say the driver overcorrected, crossed the center line near a hill crest, then overcorrected again before leaving the roadway and overturning multiple times. The report states the vehicle came to rest in a yard along Weakley Creek Road.
Authorities identified the driver as 63-year-old Christopher D. Trudelle, who was injured in the crash. A passenger, 61-year-old Tina L. Trudelle, was ejected from the vehicle and died as a result of her injuries.
The report indicates the case remains under investigation.
