Spring Hill Departments Answer “Swatting” Call

Officers with the Spring Hill Police Department responded Tuesday to what appears to have been a “swatting” incident.  The caller reported a shooting on Rain Meadow Court, however officers found no victims and no sign of a shooting.  Swatting is a malicious act that can involve placing false emergency calls and reporting a severe crisis at a location, simply to illicit a significant police response.  It results in chaos and potential violence.
