Lawrence County EMS crews recently provided hands-on training for local Emergency Medical Responder students.
Officials say students from Loretto High School had the opportunity to learn from EMS personnel, including a session led by Assistant Director Watkins along with Paramedic Wright and AEMT Brogan. The training focused on obstetric emergencies and included a hands-on look at critical lifesaving equipment used on ambulances.
EMS officials say experiences like this help bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world patient care.
The department also recognized the efforts of EMR students at both Loretto High School and Summertown High School, praising their hard work and dedication as they prepare for careers in emergency services and healthcare.
Earlier this week, Lawrence County EMS also visited Summertown Middle School to speak with a career exploration class about EMS as a profession. Students were able to learn about emergency medical services, ask questions, and tour an EMS unit.
Officials say outreach efforts like these help connect with the community and inspire the next generation of healthcare providers.
