According to media reports, search warrants were executed Tuesday in connection with the 2021 murder of a Giles County man.
Giles County Sheriff Joe Purvis confirmed that a home on Buford Station Road in Lynnville is being searched as part of the ongoing investigation into the death of Jim Grimes.
Agencies involved in the search include the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Giles County District Attorney’s Office, Homeland Security, and the Giles County Sheriff’s Office.
Grimes was shot and killed in April 2021 while feeding animals in his backyard. No arrests have been made in the case.
Investigators have previously indicated the person responsible may have been familiar with the property, noting that much of the land was secured by electric fencing with limited access points.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Giles County Sheriff’s Office at 931-363-3505 or the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
A $1 million reward remains available for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
