The Hardin County Sheriff’s Department reports that citizens have received calls from a person who identifies himself as “Chief Deputy Mike Fielder,” then claims that the person has some sort of violation for which they owe fines. The caller requests that the person meet them at a specified location with a designated amount of money to pay the fine, to avoid being arrested. They remind residents that this is a scam. The department would never contact you in this manner. They urge you to discontinue such calls and contact your local law enforcement agency.
