State lawmakers will hold a press conference Tuesday, March 31 to discuss efforts aimed at reducing opioid use in Tennessee.
State Senator Page Walley and State Representative Bryan Terry will highlight Senate Bill 2149, known as the HOPE Treatment Act, which proposes a framework for an FDA-supervised ibogaine clinical trial as a potential treatment option for opioid use disorder.
The press conference is scheduled for 7:30 AM in the Press Conference Room on Floor G of the Cordell Hull Building in Nashville.
Officials say the legislation is part of ongoing efforts to address the state’s opioid crisis and explore new treatment solutions.
