Tom Crews Field to Debut New Turf Thursday Night

A new chapter in local athletics will begin Thursday night as Tom Crews Field debuts its newly installed turf with the first game on the upgraded surface.

Lawrence County High School will host Columbia Central at 6:15 PM, marking the first baseball game played on the new field.

School officials say the project includes not only the turf, but also improvements such as updated facilities and lighting, creating a top-tier environment for student-athletes.

The field operates through a partnership between the City of Lawrenceburg and Lawrence County, with the high school using the facility during baseball season and the city utilizing it for recreation and tournaments throughout the rest of the year.

City leaders say the investment will enhance safety, expand recreational opportunities, and help attract tournaments to the area.

The community is encouraged to attend and support the Wildcats as they take the field for the first time on the new surface.
