The Lawrenceburg NOAA Weather Radio transmitter, broadcasting on 162.425 MHz, remains off the air following damage from January’s ice storm.
National Weather Service technicians are working to repair the site, but the outage could continue into April. The transmitter may be used briefly during emergency situations, though broadcast quality may be limited.
Residents are encouraged to rely on local media and commercial radio for severe weather updates during the outage.
Backup transmitters are available in Centerville on 162.450 MHz and in Clifton on 162.500 MHz. However, those transmitters may not issue alerts specific to Lawrence County.
Officials urge the public to remain weather aware until service is fully restored.
