Lawrence County Executive David Morgan says he is thankful for the community’s response following the recent tornado that impacted the Bonnertown area.
In a column, Morgan reflected on the fear tornadoes can bring, recalling a childhood experience and noting that nothing can fully prepare someone for the reality of seeing and hearing one approach.
He said that in the early hours of Monday, March 16, residents in Bonnertown experienced that fear, and in the moments that followed, the long process of cleanup and recovery began.
Morgan expressed gratitude that no lives were lost and no major injuries were reported, while acknowledging the lasting impact on those affected.
He also thanked volunteers, first responders, and agencies that responded to the storm, including utility crews, local departments, and weather coverage that helped keep residents informed.
Morgan said the response showed the strength of the community and encouraged continued prayers for those affected and for protection from future storms.
