Investigators with the Giles County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on March 12 at a residence on Big Spring Hollow Road as part of an ongoing sexual exploitation of a minor investigation.
Authorities said the investigation began March 6 after the sheriff’s office received a cyber tip from the Tennessee Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding possible sexual exploitation involving a minor.
During the investigation, officials said they identified a location where the alleged activity occurred and obtained a search warrant for the residence. Evidence related to the case was recovered during the search.
As a result of the investigation, John Story III was taken into custody at his place of employment and transported to the Giles County Jail, where he was booked on one count of sexual exploitation of a minor.
The investigation remains active, and additional charges are possible as investigators continue to review evidence.
The sheriff’s office said protecting children remains a priority and emphasized the importance of cooperation among families, communities, and law enforcement to prevent child exploitation.
Officials also expressed appreciation to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Tennessee Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and Homeland Security Investigations for their assistance in the investigation.
Authorities noted that all parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
