Spring Hill Fire Department Issues Parking Lot Safety Reminder

Over the past month, Spring Hill Fire Department crews responded to four separate vehicle accidents in local parking lots where cars struck nearby businesses. In each incident, it appears the accelerator was pressed instead of the brake.

Authorities report that the drivers were not seriously injured, and no one inside the businesses was hurt.

The department shared the information as a safety reminder, not to assign blame. Parking lots, while familiar, require the same level of attention as any roadway. Slowing down, staying focused, and being mindful of pedal placement can help prevent similar accidents.

The department expressed gratitude that none of these incidents resulted in serious injuries.
