Maury County firefighters responded to a structure fire on Lisa Lane Tuesday, March 3, at 8:20 PM. The fire was initially reported as a possible back deck blaze from a nearby street, but the homeowner soon confirmed that the fire had spread to the house.
Units on scene included Engines 21, 27, 30, 32; Tankers 21, 23, 28, 30, 32; Truck 21; Brush 32; District 30; Safety 20; Ops 20; Deputy 20; and mutual aid from Columbia Fire & Rescue Tanker 1 and Car 3.
Firefighters found heavy fire involvement in the rear of the home, with flames reaching the first floor and attic. An offensive fire attack, combined with coordinated vertical ventilation, helped contain the fire. Three animals—a snake, a turtle, and a caiman alligator—were rescued safely.
No injuries were reported. Off-duty Franklin firefighter and former MCFD member Josh Cole assisted with pumping and line operations, allowing more firefighters to focus on attacking the blaze.
