James “Bubba” Womble

James “Bubba” Womble, age 84, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at VA Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was a native of Giles County and owner of James Womble Drywall. He enjoyed running his own business and tending to his livestock, especially his goats. Mr. Womble served his country honorably in the US Army. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Lacy Womble; two sisters, Mildred Thompson and Jewell Dean Ellis; one brother, Bill Womble; and one grandson, Eric Womble. 

He is survived by his wife, Alice Freemon Womble of Lawrenceburg, TN; two sons, James Todd Womble and Kevin Lee (Lori) Womble both of Lawrenceburg, TN; two brothers, Wayne Womble of Smyrna, TN and Dan (Annette) Womble of Ethridge, TN; two sisters, Carolyn Collins of Jackson, TN and Martha (Herbie) Magee of Ethridge, TN; and five grandchildren, Blake (Jordan) Womble, Tiffany Womble, William (Genevieve) Fleming, Matthew Fleming, Zac Chamberlin, and six great–grandchildren. 

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday, March 6, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Friday, March 6, 2026, with Jeff Toungette officiating.
