Lawrence County Administrator of Elections Tanya White has released the list of individuals who met the Feb. 19 qualifying deadline to participate in the county’s upcoming elections.
Republican qualifiers for the May 5 State and County Primary Election include the following:
County Executive — David Aaron Morgan and Phillip J. Heatherly
Circuit Court Clerk — Tommy Lee Kidd
Sheriff — John Myers
County Clerk — Russ Brewer
Middle District Constable — Jerrod Menz
School Board District 5 — John Daniel
School Board District 6 — Corey Rochelle
County Commissioner District 1 — Dustin Stutts
County Commissioner District 2 — Barry Luffman
County Commissioner District 4 — Allen Price
County Commissioner District 5 — Blake Grooms, John D. Bradley
County Commissioner District 6 — Chris Sutherland
County Commissioner District 7 — Travis Cauwels
County Commissioner District 12 — Angie Jacobs

The Lawrence County Democrat Party has opted for nonpartisan local races. They will hold no primary or caucus. Instead, they will appear on the ballot as Independent candidates, along with any other individuals seeking election as an Independent candidate.
Independent candidates will not appear on the ballot for the May 5 Primary. They will appear on the ballot for the Aug. 6 Primary and General Election.
