Lawrence County EMS Reports 579 Requests in February

Lawrence County EMS responded to 579 total requests for service in February 2026, transporting 388 patients during the month.

Of those transports, 51 were to Maury Regional Medical Center, 15 to North Alabama Medical Center, and five to Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Pulaski. EMS crews also completed 31 transports to facilities in other counties.

There were 127 calls in which patients refused care or no care was required, along with 16 fire standby, law enforcement assistance, or mutual aid requests. Crews responded to 54 canceled calls or incidents where no patient was found.

Call volume for February 2026 increased slightly compared to February 2025 across all service areas.

Continuing education during the month included emergency driving and emergency vehicle operations training through the department’s online 24/7 system. Four representatives from Lawrence County EMS attended the Tennessee Ambulance Service Association Mid-Winter Conference in Gatlinburg. Those attending were Director Ayers, AEMT Burnett, Paramedic Wright, and Assistant Director Watkins, who also completed the CTAS EMS Administrator 2.0 Pre-Conference Course.

Outreach education efforts in February included lifesaving training for students at Summertown Middle School, attendees at Loretto Senior Center, and nursing education students at Summertown High School.
