Mexican Resident Arrested for Trafficking, Smuggling

A traffic stop on Interstate 65 in Limestone County Wednesday resulted in drug charges against the driver and prompted an investigation into human smuggling.  Daniel Lopez Baltazar, age 35, of Mexico, was arrested for trafficking fentanyl and unlawful possession of hemp products.  In addition to the drugs, officials report there were six undocumented persons in the vehicle believed to have been smuggled by Baltazar.  Investigation in the matter is on-going.
