The Lawrenceburg Rotary Club welcomed Trea Dunnavant of the Lawrence County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (LCSAP) as the guest speaker at its Friday, February 27, 2026 meeting at Lawrenceburg Rotary Park.
Dunnavant opened his remarks by complimenting the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club for its positive impact on the community, highlighting Rotary’s support of the Middle Tennessee District Fair and other community-focused projects that strengthen local families and youth. He provided Rotarians with an update on LCSAP’s mission and programs, explaining that the coalition works to unite community partners in a collaborative effort to reduce substance use disorders in Lawrence County. A key focus of LCSAP’s work is creating opportunities for families to become better connected to community resources and services.
Dunnavant encouraged Rotarians to stay informed and engaged with legislative activities related to substance abuse prevention and treatment services. He emphasized the importance of constituent voices, noting that while legislators often hear from lobbyists, they hear far less frequently from individuals and community leaders directly affected by these issues.
During his presentation, Dunnavant described the TN Camp Thrive “Back to School” event, which includes a shopping trip to local retailers such as Walmart or The Outlook for school supplies and clothing, helping students start the school year prepared and confident.
Highlighting LCSAP’s measurable impact, Dunnavant shared 2025 achievement data showing that 4,790 families were connected to available services through coalition efforts. He concluded by inviting the community to attend LCSAP’s 10-Year Anniversary Celebration Town Hall on March 17, 2026, to be held at The Vaughan Venue, recognizing a decade of progress in substance abuse prevention and community collaboration.
