A 59-year-old Franklin man has been arrested following a reported theft at Grecian Family Restaurant.
According to the Spring Hill Police Department, officers were dispatched at 10:25 a.m. on Feb. 19 to Grecian Family Restaurant, 2003 Wall St., in reference to a reported theft of money.
Witnesses told officers the suspect was inside the restaurant and seated in a chair. When an employee stepped away from the cash register area, the suspect allegedly took cash from the register and fled the scene in a Cadillac sedan.
Using information gathered from surveillance cameras and license plate readers, officers were able to positively identify both the suspect and the vehicle involved. With assistance from the Franklin Police Department, the suspect was located and arrested in Franklin.
He was charged with burglary, for entering an area restricted to employees, and theft of property.
The Spring Hill Police Department thanked the Franklin Police Department for its assistance in the investigation.
