Mr. Charles Everett Burleson Jr. was born December 28, 1951, to the union of his parents the late Mr. Charles Everette “Howard” Burleson Sr. and Mrs. Emma Cummings Burleson Bratcher. He spent his childhood in Lawrence County, TN and later in his adult years met his partner of over 39 years Mrs. Martha Burleson. Mr. Burleson will be remembered as a hard working man providing for his family as block and brick mason and most recently as a sawmill operator for Olive Hill Sawmill. He was of the Christian faith and being from a musically talented family would play his guitar with his family and friends whenever they were together. He was a lover of music, especially country and old rock. Music was often a focal point of family reunions and holidays where he often displayed his jovial personality joking and laughing and enjoying life. He also possessed a love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. However, the moments he cherished most were the memories he made with his family and friends. Mr. Charles Everett Burleson Jr. passed from this life on February 18, 2026, making his stay on earth some 74 years, 1 month and 24 days.

 

Those left to cherish his memory include his long-time partner Ms. Martha Burleson; sisters Glenda Juarez husband Jesus, Angie Skelton husband Lee all of Waynesboro.TN and Karen Haddock; brother Curtis Burleson both of East Prairie, MO; several nieces and nephews as well as many other family members, friends and loved ones.

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by stepfather Tommy Bratcher his siblings Alvie Burleson, Richard Burleson, Kerry Lee Burleson, Anthony Burleson, and Amy Burleson Moore.

 

Funeral Services will be held Friday February 20, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC chapel in Waynesboro, TN with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnesville Cemetery in Summertown, TN.

 

Visitation with the Burleson family will begin Thursday February 19, 2026 at 5:00 pm till 9:00 pm and again on Friday from 10:00 am till 1:00 pm funeral service time all at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation chapel.
