Qualifying Deadline Approaching for May 5 Republican County Primary

In Lawrence County, the qualifying deadline for the May 5, 2026 Republican County Primary is February 19 at noon. All qualifying petitions must be filed by the 12:00 noon deadline.

The deadline also applies to independent candidates who will appear on the August 6, 2026 General Election ballot.

Offices on the ballot include county executive, county clerk, circuit court clerk, register of deeds, trustee, sheriff, road superintendent, county commissioners for districts 1 through 18, school board members for districts 2, 3, 5, 6 and 9, and constables in the northern, middle and southern districts.

The position of circuit court judge for the 22nd Judicial District, Part 1, is also included.
