The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Commissioners heard bi-monthly financial reports from the Fiscal Agent and Director of Schools and received a report from the Resolution Committee.

During the meeting, Ryan P. Durham was elected as the new Lawrence County Attorney, succeeding Charles W. “Charlie” Holt, Jr., who previously served in the role and passed away in December 2025.

The commission approved several memorial and honorary resolutions, including one honoring Holt’s life and service and formally naming the Lawrence County Judicial Annex in his honor. Additional resolutions recognized local students for achievements at the Tennessee Elementary Beta Convention and honored a Lawrence County High School football standout.

Commissioners also approved the remaining business on the agenda, including budget updates, the 2026 county road list, surplus equipment declarations, committee appointments and other routine matters.

One item — Resolution No. 20260127-15 concerning property reappraisal requirements — passed with one “no” vote from Commissioner Wayne Yocom. All other items were approved unanimously.
