Chris D. Jackson has been appointed City Manager by the St. Joseph City Commission. He began his first full week in the role following the February 3 commission meeting.
Jackson brings extensive public service experience, including 16 years as a county commissioner — seven as Chairman Pro Tempore — and two years as a county election commissioner. His professional background also includes higher education and law enforcement administration, along with involvement in local and state civic organizations.
Jackson holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Alabama and pursued graduate studies at Tennessee Tech University.
Jackson expressed gratitude to Mayor Carter and Commissioners Passarella and White for their support, noting that he intends to build on the city’s existing foundation, honor its history, and create renewed pride and opportunity for St. Joseph residents. He said his commitment is to serve the city with honesty, accountability, and respect.
