A Man Down Drill was held at the Lawrence County Detention Center on Wednesday to evaluate emergency response procedures for corrections staff and test coordination with local emergency responders.
The exercise simulated a real-life emergency, giving participating agencies the opportunity to practice communication, scene management, and medical response in a controlled setting. Officials say such drills are vital to ensuring staff can respond quickly and safely during high-stress situations.
Lawrence County E-911, EMS, the Lawrenceburg Fire Department, Lawrenceburg Police Department, sheriff’s deputies, and detention center staff all participated in the drill. The exercise also allowed agencies to identify areas for improvement and assess the effectiveness of their response systems.
Officials emphasized that ongoing training and collaboration are critical to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency during emergencies within the facility.
