Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office Scam Alert

The Lauderdale County Alabama Sheriff’s Office warns residents about scammers posing as deputies. These individuals call citizens claiming there is a warrant for their arrest and demand payment. The scam may also come via text message with a QR code link, requesting payment in bitcoins.

Another variation involves claims of “failing to appear for jury duty.”

Reminder: The Sheriff’s Office does not contact citizens by phone regarding warrants or demand payment. This is a scam.
