Marie Gillespie

Marie Gillespie, age 95, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at NHC Healthcare of Lawrenceburg. She was born on Second Creek in Lawrence County, TN where she attended school, was a retired teacher’s aide from Lawrence County School System, a member of Flatwoods Church of Christ and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Oscar and Hattie Mae Thomas Williams; and her husband, Lindbergh Gillespie. 

She is survived by one son, Dwayne Gillespie of Lawrenceburg, TN; several nieces and nephews. 

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 12, 2026, with Rodney Livingston officiating. Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Leoma, TN.
