Lawrence County Schools has issued guidance for parents and local businesses ahead of Valentine’s Day, outlining procedures for items delivered to students during the school day.
School officials ask families and businesses to check with individual schools for specific delivery days and times, noting that additional requirements may vary by campus. Schools will only distribute items and are not responsible for loss or damage.
For safety reasons, all gifts must include the student’s name and the teacher’s name or grade level on a card. Students will not be allowed to ride school buses with balloons or glass containers of any kind.
Local businesses that deliver items to schools are encouraged to communicate these rules when orders are placed and to confirm the correct delivery day when accepting orders.
School administrators say they want students to enjoy Valentine’s Day celebrations while keeping safety a top priority and thank parents and businesses for their cooperation.
