Multiple departments respond to Lawrence County house fire

Lawrence County Fire & Rescue responded to a residential structure fire on February 1 at approximately 7 p.m. in the West Point Fire District. Upon arrival, West Point units found a two-story home with heavy fire conditions affecting roughly 60% of the structure.

Firefighters battled the blaze in sub-freezing temperatures, relying on a tanker shuttle operation due to a limited water supply. No injuries were reported.

Responding stations included West Point, Iron City, Gandy, Leoma, and South East. Loretto and Holly Creek fire departments provided mutual aid.
