The Lawrenceburg City Council met in regular session on Thursday, January 22, at the Lawrenceburg Municipal Complex.
During the meeting, council members approved all agenda items, including a resolution authorizing the purchase of a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD work truck from Wilson County Motors through a state contract. The vehicle will be used by the city’s Public Works Department.
The council also conducted public input regarding a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), though the discussion did not constitute an official public hearing.
In other business, the council welcomed Ben Daugherty to the Lawrenceburg Police Department. Daugherty is a 2003 graduate of Loretto High School and played football at Bethel College and the University of North Alabama. He later earned an associate degree in criminal justice from Wallace State University. Daugherty brings nearly 20 years of law enforcement experience, including many years with the Columbia Police Department.
