Donald (Don) “Pete” Latchem, 75, of Killen died Friday, January 23, 2026. After an extended illness.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 28, 2026, 11 AM to 12 PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 12 in the chapel with Bro. Kip McKee officiating. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Park.
Mr. Latchem was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He retired from TVA as an Electrician and was a member of the IBEW Local 558. He served in the US Navy and reentered into the US Army and National Guard and served on three different tours. He was a member of the Center Star Volunteer Fire Department. He loved spending time at his lake house and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Adalou Latchem and brother, Bobby Latchem.
Pete is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Latchem; children, Chris Latchem, Mike Latchem (Donna), Mona Gatlin, and Gwen Montgomery (Michael); grandchildren, Reanna Gatlin (Austin Swindall), Taylor Latchem, Tyler Latchem, Maggie Grace Latchem, Felisha Phillips (Michael); great-grandchildren, Scarlett Swindall and Bruce Ridinger.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Latchem, Tyler Latchem, Austin Swindall, Perry Gooch, Dakota Wellington, and DeWayne Wellington.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the VA, Parkinson’s, or Dementia/Parkinson’s Research.
