Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department investigates shoplifting at Dollar General

On Wednesday, January 14, deputies from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department responded to a shoplifting incident at Dollar General on Scenic Road. The call came in around 6:53 PM, regarding a theft that occurred at approximately 6:34 PM. Surveillance footage showed a white male in his twenties with brown hair taking a case of beer from the cooler, placing it in a basket, and leaving the store without paying. The suspect was seen leaving in a blue Saturn with a front bumper secured by zip ties. No identifying information or tag number was obtained. The estimated total loss was $40–$45, including a case of beer and a bag of chips.

The investigation is ongoing.
