Drugs, Stolen Vehicle Seized During Traffic Stop

A recent traffic stop in the area of Poplar Avenue and Calvary Street in Huntsville yielded the seizure of a significant amount of methamphetamine and the recovery of a stolen vehicle.  Madison County Sheriff’s deputies conducted the traffic stop on Monday. They were assisted by sheriff’s K-9 deputies.  During the stop they seized some 1.6 pounds of methamphetamine, a handgun, and discovered that the vehicle had been reported as stolen.  Driver Charles Nicholas Young, age 47, was arrested on charges of drug trafficking, receiving stolen property and illegal possession of a firearm.
