The Columbia Police Department has issued a reminder that Tennessee law requires motorists who are either meeting or being overtaken by an emergency vehicle, to yield the right-of-way.  Motorists should immediately drive to a parallel position as close as possible to the right side edge of the curb or roadway, and remain in that position until the emergency vehicle has passed or a police officer directs you to move.  Remember to pull to the right for sirens and lights.
