Grant Funds Allocated to Restore Lawrence County Courthouse

Lawrence County is one of 11 counties awarded Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Historic Development Grand funds, earmarked for work on county courthouse.  Lawrence County is slated to receive $500,000 in funds to be used for several projects, including repairs of the clock and bell in the clock tower.   In addition, the courthouse, which was completed in 1974 and is 52 years old, is to be added to the National Register of Historic Places.
