Dexter was a devoted son to his late parents, B. M. Houser and Minnie Kilburn Jacobs. His journey through life was shared with his beloved wife, Barbara Kay Houser, who preceded him in death, as did his brother, Bobby Houser, and his daughter, Beverly Coleman (Butch).
His legacy continues through his five loving children, Mary Leigh Burleson (Denny) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Robbie Peppers of Lawrenceburg, TN, Mickey Houser (Vanda) of Clifton, TN, Tina Manchester (Anthony) of Decatur, AL, and Michael Houser of Hartselle, AL; and his sister, Patsy Robinson of Poplar Bluff, MO. His ten grandchildren, Ryan Burleson, Matthew Burleson, Maleia Houser, Dexter Houser, Dustin Coleman, Cody Coleman, Adam Coleman, Jeremy Ledbetter, Jessica Washington, and Joey Manchester; thirty great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride, will miss his guidance and the stories he shared. Dexter also leaves behind a special friend, Elaine Matney, who provided companionship and support in his later years.
Dexter proudly served his country as an Army veteran. His work ethic was further exemplified in his career as a truck driver for Smith & Atkins, where he was known for his reliability and forthright demeanor. Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, Dexter was an avid outdoorsman. His love for fishing, hunting, and camping was more than a hobby; it was a way for him to connect with nature and with those he loved. He attended Sims Ridge Church of Christ.
