Later that evening, shortly after 10:00 PM, LCFR units were dispatched to a motor vehicle injury crash with a vehicle on fire in the same district. Initial reports indicated six patients were involved, and callers were unsure if anyone remained trapped inside. First-arriving units found a vehicle off the roadway in a wooded area fully involved in flames. All patients were confirmed out of the vehicle. Firefighters extinguished the burning vehicle and contained the fire spreading to nearby woods. LCFR personnel assisted EMS and established safe landing zones for two air medical helicopters transporting critically injured patients. Other patients were treated and transported by EMS. The crash is under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
LCFR expressed gratitude for the immediate response and support from mutual aid partners, including the Lawrenceburg Fire Department.
