Lawrence Countians again manned the kettle after a 12 year absence, and the Collinwood High School Student Council became the first school-sponsored group to participate in bell-ringing in Wayne County.

The City of Athens, Alabama, is encouraging students to participate in the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day Essay and Art Contest.  Entries are due by Tuesday.  This year’s them focuses on kindness.  Winners will be recognized at the annual Martin Luther King, Jr., event on January 19.  To find out more, visit the City of Athens, Alabama Public Relations Facebook page.
