Lawrenceburg Utility Systems is urging customers to be cautious when putting things down your drains. The department has experienced increased issues related to such things as motor oil, cooking oil and grease, as well as wipes or cloths, that people put down their drains. These cause pipes to stop up and waste to back up, creating problems for customers and service crews alike. This can also increase costs for customers. They remind residents that oil can be recycled at the county’s transfer stations in both Lawrenceburg and Loretto.
