Florence Police Investigate Crash with Injuries, DUI Arrest

On December 25, 2025, officers with the Florence Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries and reported entrapment at the intersection of Florence Boulevard and Broadway Street. Upon arrival, officers located a female driver and a juvenile female trapped inside one of the vehicles. Both were extricated, and one sustained serious injuries.

Officers identified the driver of the second vehicle as Martin Jimenez Miranda, 36, of Guatemala. Indicators of impairment led to a DUI investigation, and Miranda was arrested. He has been charged with Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, and Driving Under the Influence. Miranda was booked at the Lauderdale County Detention Center, where his bond is set at $8,000, but he remains in custody due to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hold.
