BISSELL Pet Foundation Donates $300,000 Toward New Giles County Animal Shelter

The Giles County Animal Shelter announced that Cathy Bissell and the BISSELL Pet Foundation have donated $300,000 toward the construction of a new animal shelter. Shelter officials said the donation marks the largest gift in the organization’s history and provides a major boost toward a long-planned facility.

According to the shelter, the new building is intended to better serve the needs of animals, staff, volunteers, and the community. While the donation jump-starts the project, officials said additional community support and fundraising will be needed to complete construction.

The shelter also thanked Butcher Drafting for donating the blueprints for the project and said further updates will be shared as plans move forward.
