Altercation Leads to Death of Giles Man

An altercation at a Frankewing business Friday resulted in the death of one man and the arrest of a second.  Giles County Sheriff’s Department officials were dispatched to the business just before 10 p.m. to find Douglas Winborn had sustained life-threatening injuries.  Justin Straw, who was also involved in the fight, was arrested at the scene.  Winborn was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.  Straw was booked into the Giles County Jail on charges of domestic assault, aggravated assault and first-degree murder.  The incident remains under investigation.
