Nathan Lynn Marston

Nathan Lynn Marston, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 21, 2025, at the age of 72, in his hometown of Leoma, Tennessee. Born on June 8, 1953, in the same close-knit community, Nathan’s life was a testament to his enduring love for his family and his unwavering commitment to his faith and work.

Nathan was the beloved son of the late Edward H. “Ed” and Annie Green Marston.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Dottie Marston of Leoma, TN. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and shared passions. He was a loving father to his daughters, Shannon Wentzel (Jeremy) of Cornersville, TN, and Cassie Perry of Leoma, TN, and a caring stepfather to Kelly Hill (Barry) of Hazel Green, AL. His role as a grandfather was one he cherished deeply, and he leaves behind a legacy of joy and wisdom for his seven grandchildren, Colton Wentzel, Hunter Wentzel, Rylee Wentzel, Reese Sharp, Michael Perry, Ava Davis, and Sara Labit (Gabe), as well as his great-granddaughter, Olivia VanHoozer.

Nathan is survived by his sisters, Debbie Barnett (Chuck) of Leoma, TN, and Rita Beck (Brian) of Ethridge, TN. His life was enriched by the love and support of his extended family, including several nieces and nephews who will miss his guidance and gentle spirit.

Before retiring, Nathan was a respected manager at the Lawrence Farmer’s Coop, where his dedication and hard work left a lasting impact. His commitment to his community was further exemplified through his active membership at Antioch United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir and led the congregational singing all of his life.

Nathan’s interests were a reflection of his love for the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid fisherman, finding peace and solace in the quiet moments by the water. His passion for farming was evident to all who knew him, and his love for his cows was matched only by the care he took in tending to them. A man of many talents, Nathan was renowned for his delicious fried pies and peanut brittle, treats that will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of tasting them.

His involvement with the Lawrence County Community Theater brought joy not only to Nathan but to the audiences who were lucky enough to witness his performances. His presence on and off the stage will be greatly missed by his fellow members and the community at large.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Antioch United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at Antioch United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 27, 2025, with Martha Davison officiating. Interment will follow at Freemon Cemetery in Leoma, TN.
