Billie Sue Robinson, 85, of Loretto, Tennessee, passed away on December 21, 2025. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, and friend, who touched the lives of many with her warmth, generosity, and kindness.Billie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Perless Robinson. They met in church and shared 64 years of marriage—a partnership grounded in faith, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
A lifelong learner and dedicated educator, Billie earned three degrees in Education from the University of North Alabama. She devoted over 30 years to inspiring children at Loretto Elementary and South Lawrence Elementary. Her students adored her, and she remembered each one, often recalling memories through yearbooks and class photos. Teaching was far more than a career to her; it was a lifelong passion.
Billie loved her hometown of Loretto, a place where she found friendship, support, and community. She often said she had the best neighbors and friends, all who helped her and loved her throughout her life—Cindy Johnson, the John and Amber Kress family, and Gail and Tom Stanford. She also cherished the love and support of her church family at Fairview First Congregational Methodist Church, especially Jim and Rita Pettus and her longtime pastor Paul Monk who she considered part of her family.
Her adventurous spirit carried her far beyond home, as she planned trips with her husband and children to all 50 states and Canada, embracing every experience with enthusiasm and excitement. At home, she maintained an impeccably clean house and had a mild obsession with Kleenex and paper towels. She expected everyone to wash their hands and wipe their feet when entering the home, ensuring a welcoming but clean house. Family gatherings were filled with laughter, games, and her playful touch—like “adjusting” the rules (cheating) to make things more fun. Her creativity shone through in the candy-bar birthday cards she lovingly made for her children, as well as in her elaborate holiday meals and homemade dishes that brought everyone together, even when she habitually burnt the rolls. She loved her pro sports, especially NFL football, and in her later years she was always working on her puzzle books.
Faith and family were everything to Billie. She devoted her life to those she loved, and she leaves behind a large and cherished family. She is survived by her four children: Karen (Randy), Connie (Tim), Michael (Kelly), and Myra (Robb); seven grandchildren: Katie (Morgen), Ashley (Diego), Anna (David), Cory, Sam, Olivia, and Jack; and six great-grandchildren: Isabella, Violet, Lucas, Evelyn, Isaac, and Kai. The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Billie was preceded in death by her sister, Pattie Putman, and her son-in-law, Randy Wood. She is also survived by her sister, Roger Blair, along with six nieces and one nephew.
Billie dedicated so much of her time and love to all of them, teaching through her actions the meaning of generosity, strength, and faith.
Billie will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her children feel fortunate to have had such an extraordinary mother and will cherish her memory always. Visitation will be Sunday 12/28/25 from 12:00 to 2:00 at Loretto Memorial Chapel. Funeral service 2:00pm Sunday 12/28/2025 in the chapel of Loretto Memorial Chapel. With Paul Monk Officiating. Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
