Elkmont Resident Arrested on Child Sex Abuse Charges

Elkmont, Alabama resident Ricky Junior Thompson, age 55, has been arrested on charges of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years of age and first degree sodomy.  The Giles County Sheriff’s Department, in conjunction with the Limestone County, Alabama, Sheriff’s Department, reports that the investigation was opened after a juvenile reported being a victim of the crimes, which allegedly occurred in both Tennessee and Alabama.  Thompson is facing charges in both jurisdictions.  The investigation is currently ongoing, as additional victims have been identified.  Thompson is being held without bond.
