Gloria’s early years in Lawrence County were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family and the joys of Southern living. She was the beloved daughter of Jack and Sibyl Clayton Nelson of Westpoint, Tennessee, and grew up alongside her caring brothers, Ricky Nelson (Sherry) of Westpoint, TN, and Randy Nelson (Marilyn) of Killen, AL. Her sister, Jackie McCaddon (Kevin) of Collinwood, TN, shared in the many cherished memories that would become the fabric of Gloria’s life story.
The journey of love led Gloria to her first husband, Wendell Roberts, with whom she built a life until his passing. Love found her once again, and she was blessed with a beautiful union with Danny Houser of Westpoint, TN. Together, they continued to nurture a family that was her pride and joy.
Gloria’s legacy is carried on through her devoted children, David Roberts (Kellie) of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Kayla Chapman (Johnathan) of Lawrenceburg, TN. Her role as a grandmother was one she cherished deeply, and she showered her five grandchildren, Keylan Roberts, Kourtnie Roberts, Katie Roberts, Camden Chapman, and Ella Kate Chapman, with love and wisdom that will guide them throughout their lives.
A homemaker at heart, Gloria created a haven of warmth and comfort for all who entered her home. Her hands were rarely still, as she joyfully tended to the needs of her family and friends. Her special friend, Debra Wilkerson of Lawrenceburg, TN, will fondly remember the countless moments of friendship they shared.
Gloria’s faith was the cornerstone of her existence.
