Chris Hannah Announces Run for Lawrence County Sheriff in 2026

Chris Hannah, a 32-year veteran of law enforcement, has officially announced he will run for Sheriff of Lawrence County in 2026. He says the decision came after careful prayer and reflection — he feels the role is “bigger than Chris Hannah,” and believes now is the right time to return home and help keep his community safe.

During his career, Hannah has served various communities for more than two decades. If elected Sheriff, he plans to prioritize aggressive enforcement against drug activity, while also increasing support for local youth through a summer-camp program involving multiple community agencies. He proposes enhanced mental-health training for deputies and improved overall training standards for the department.

Hannah says his goals include serving the people of Lawrence County with integrity, professionalism and pride. He invites the community to meet him, hear his plans, and keep him in their thoughts and prayers as the campaign begins.
